The Goddess Coloring Book: Talk and Presentation
Craig Coss, Author and Artist of The Goddess Coloring Book
Original Date: Thursday, March 3, 2016
Please join artist, educator, and storyteller Craig Coss as he shares the story behind the creation of The Goddess Coloring Book: Traditional Images to Contemplate and Color. Craig will share aspects and images of the project that struck him with their beauty and mystery, and explain how he decided which traditional images of goddesses to include in the book. He will also tell an ancient Hindu myth, The Churning of the Ocean of Milk, which celebrates the return of Shri, the divine feminine luster, to a world bereft of Her magic. After the story, Craig will take questions and be available to sign books.
Craig Coss is a West Coast fine artist, educator, and storyteller who lives in Petaluma. Since 1992, his work has addressed themes of longing, stillness, alchemy, the divine feminine, and our sacred connection to the Earth. He has taught art, writing, and mythology to students grades K-12, and has developed a curriculum for students to study universal patterns of culture that is currently taught in three states. He holds an MFA in Visual Narrative from the School of Visual Arts in New York. The Goddess Coloring Book is his first book.
