In the winter of 2007/8 Maurizio traveled with colleagues to Mumbai to produce a new film on the great master Nisargadatta, based upon interviews with his three now quite elderly translators, Mullarpattan, Mahon Gaitonde and Jayashri. The journey included a visit to Maharaj's old room, where he lived and received students. The filmmakers interviewed Nisargadatta's family, found his "unauthorized shrine" and visited his Guru's Samadhi shrine. They also interviewed Ramesh Balsakar and met with many incredible Nisargadatta devotees who shared their devotion and love. The talk will also revisit the personal journey that took Maurizio from being a commercial filmmaker in New York City into becoming the videographer of such an amazing master.

Maurizio Benazzo grew up in Genova, Italy. At an early age he began actively traveling the spiritual path. In 1985 Maurizio set out to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a 98 year old Lateen sailboat. Maurizio landed in New York City where, for 17 years, he worked both before and behind the camera. Maurizio directed the Award winning documentary "Short Cut to Nirvana" and has made 5 films about Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. He is currently organizing the "Science of Non Duality" conference in October 2009 in San Rafael.
