As poet William Carlos Williams so aptly expressed, "It is difficult/ to get the news from poems/ yet men die miserably every day/ for lack/ of what is found there." Poetry is a portal for higher consciousness. It transports the listener into deep remembrance and awakens the fire of the soul. It gives voice to what would otherwise be inexpressible using the mother tongue of rivers and stars translated into words and the silence that holds them. The ancient Celts believed that there are sacred places where the veil thins between worlds. Poetry, itself, serves in this role. "Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world." observed Percy Bysshe Shelley. Andrea will be presenting poems that lift the veil and ignite the spirit drawing from the works of great poets like Rilke, Neruda, Hafiz and others as well as sharing selections of her own inspiring poetry. Come enjoy a heart-opening, transformative evening of soulful poetry!
