For the last 40 years Russell has been exploring the relationship between Embodiment, Meditation, and how inner practices can impact the world. What is Embodiment? Embodiment refers to the experience of wholeness i.e. the integration of mind/body/spirit and includes: presence—the connection of self and world in present moment and integrity—authenticity, honesty and self-responsibility. The body is viewed as a vehicle through which the entire human being and one's relationship to life can be explored. What is meditation? As you know there are many forms of meditation. The practice I offer involves cultivating "friendliness with mind" and uncovering our capacity to welcome all that arises. We discover that this friendliness is exactly the same as friendliness with our lives! Please join us for a lively evening of conversation and experiences.

Russell Delman has been teaching Embodied Awareness since 1975 and has been studying in the Zen tradition of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi for more than 40 years. He studied closely with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, Dr. Robert Hall and Dr. Eugene Gendlin. Other powerful influences include: Rudolf Steiner, Non-Violent Communication and his work in India with Mother Teresa. Russell has helped in the education of more than 2500 Feldenkrais practitioners and offers mentorship programs in The Embodied Life™. With his wife Linda, he established "Sophia's Sanctuary", a retreat center in Sebastopol.
