The goal of spiritual practices is to remember to live a spiritual life a way of living that is full of beauty, gratitude, and devotion to the attitudes that inspire pure love. This workshop will introduce the principles of yogic worship as a means to help us lead more spiritual lives. We will explore the meaning and method of devotional practices in the tradition of Sri Ramakrishnathe great 18th century mystic and lover of Goddess Kali. Specifically, we will talk about:
Worship of Shiva and Shakti (the Divine Masculine and Feminine principles of the Universe)
Mantra (that which takes away the mind)
Puja (a devotional exercise involving Sanskrit chanting, controlled breathing, and offerings)
Shivani is a student of Shree Maa, a respected Bengali Saint, and Swami Satyananda Saraswati, an American-born yogi who spent many years practicing intense spiritual discipline in India before returning to America with Shree Maa.
She lives with her Gurus at the Devi Mandir (Temple of Divine Mother), where Shree Maa and Swamiji work tirelessly to preserve the ancient traditions of Sanatana Dharmathe Eternal Ideal of Perfection.
