The talk offered by Liu Ming will introduce the history and development of the Chinese text known as the Yijing (I Ching) and its relationship to a modern sense of leadership, self-reflection and the personal spiritual path. What is the potential use of divination in modern times? He will also present his own translation of the Zhou Yi a 1st century version of the Yi found by archaeologists in China in the 1970's.
Liu Ming, born Charles Belyea in the year of the Fire Pig, has been a private scholar and practitioner of Asian wisdom traditions (Daoism, Ch'an [Zen] and Dzogchen) for 40 years. In the last 20 years he has been presenting traditional Chinese medicine, Polestar astrology and fengshui in the context of contemplative wisdom traditions. He is an author, translator and tea ceremony practitioner.
