Janine Canan, author of Messages from Amma, and She Rises like the Sun: Invocations of the Goddess by Contemporary American Women Poets, happily returns to Many Rivers to talk about her three! new books: her collected essays, Goddesses, Goddesses; Journeys with Justine, a series of epiphanic stories, delightfully illustrated by Cristina Biaggi; and Walk Now in Beauty: The Legend of Changing Woman, exquisitely illustrated by Ernest Posey. Janine Canan, graduate of Stanford and NYU School of Medicine, is a practicing psychiatrist in Sonoma. She has authored a dozen books of poetry, including Changing Woman, In the Palace of Creation, and her translations of Else Lasker-Schuler, Star in My Forehead. Her books have received awards and commendation. Janine is a devoted follower of Mata Amritanandamayi.
