The Sonnet is the most enduring of English poetic forms. Over the centuries poets have used the Sonnet to express their insights into love, impermanence, the ups and downs of human experience, and God. Some of these Sonnets have become famous, and phrases from Sonnets have entered into common English speech. We will spend a relaxed evening reading and contemplating some of the finely crafted jewels of the Sonnet tradition.

Jim Wilson is a poet of many years. He published the first English language magazine devoted to Renga, a Japanese poetic form. He has also been a devoted practitioner of the Sonnet for many years.
