It is no great insight that American society is in trouble, our political system is working poorly, and virtually every issues is presented in simple minded dichotomies built around liberalism vs conservatism. The truth is quite different, more interesting, scarier and also more optimistic. Traditional liberalism and conservatism gave both broken down, and what can invigorate both and provide an ethical ballast to American society is a revival of spiritual traditions with an immanentist rather than transcendental or world denying bias.

Gus diZerega is a noted Pagan author who also holds a Phd in Political Science (UC Berkeley 84), has taught internationally, authored many academic publications, and organized international conferences. His fourth book Faultlines: The Sixties, the Culture Wars and the Return of the Divine Feminine will be out in November.
