Deeply comforted by a beautiful stand of willows by a creek, Sandy Eastoak began writing poems in their honor. To her surprise, traditional poetic forms began asserting themselves in her writing process. The exact poetic craft served to deepen her exploration of the kinship of species and consciousness present in that sacred willow place. Her new book, Rhymes with Pillow, contains 32 poems representing 25 different poetic forms, including sonnet, sestina, villanelle, ottava rima, haiku, lanterne, cinquain, ballad and rondeau. Illustrated with 19 of her drawings, Rhymes with Pillowmerges a naturalist's attention to detail with a mystic's intuition of oneness.

Sandy Eastoak is a professional artist and eco-dreamer. Her art supports feeling and acting on our kinship with all forms of life, while her process invokes health and abundance for many species. Her art has been shown in over 120 solo and group shows and is represented in public and private collections in 25 states and 20 countries. Her poetry is another map in her quest for ecological wisdom and love, allowing her to express explicitly the consciousness of other beings. She values alliances with other eco-dreamers, and recognizes such groups as Honor the Earth, Indigenous Environmental Network, and Idle No More as important protectors of our sacred earth.
