200 Years ago the Quaker community published a short book called A Guide to True Peace. It is a manual for the practice of inward silence and stillness. Ever since its publication it has been in continuous print, going through many editions, right down to the present day. The evening will be an introduction to the practice as outlined in the Guide, a practice which many people have found nourishing for their spiritual lives.
Jim Wilson studied Buddhism in Korea and Japan. He is a former monk, Abbot, and Prison Chaplain. He is currently a member of the local Quaker Meeting, here in Sebastopol. He spends most of his free time writing poetry.
