This talk will discuss how we can create a climate for the deeper intimacy with others by learning what it means to be intimate with ourselves. We can't control the course of love or resolve impasses in relationships through good intentions alone. But we can create a climate where others feel safe to come toward us. Through discussion, a scripted role play, and Focusing, we'll see how the key to deeper connections is to bring mindfulness to our felt experience. Being mindful of our authentic feelings and longings, just as they are, without judging ourselves, allows us to feel less split within ourselves, while creating a foundation for authentic connection with others.
